Wednesday means BON JOVI 4 life!

What do we have going on today people?

Well. There's interesting things like poverty and drug abuse happening in Pershing Square. Just hang out on the benchs with some of these guys. Don't see very many women hanging out in Pershing Square. Just a bunch of homeless dudes and players!

Get poor! Bitch! What else is going on? Library reading with ALOUD presents

That sounds like a good time. Get your literary on! I know I've been hiding it from you up until now but BON JOVI is playing at the Staples Center, the show starts at 7:30. I got some tickets worth $129 dollars and they are still all the way back at the other side of the arena. Wow! Go Bon Jovi!!

So come on down to the front desk and let me know what you want.

Clippers vs Nuggets

Whats going on in this picture. It's my new race track. Oh no the Mclaren forgot to close it's doors. Hope they have some dirt-glasses on.

OH MY GAWD!!! The Clippers are playing the Nuggets down at the Staples Center and it's worth every penny. Here's a nugget of advice for you.

Human resource personel are typically assholes. All they teach you in a human resource college class is to be an asshole and judge people. Fucking Lara.

I was also wondering what fucking bus do I take to San Dimas. I'm getting out of downtown for today. I might even go to Desert Hot Springs and buy a hotel. Fuck you downtown! You won't get me!

Living Big Monday

What is going on today? Well, we've got all kinds of goodies.

You can check out all the high rises going up! Southpark looks amazing.

Come down to the Historic core and rent one of the new SB Manhattan lofts. Open up a business and kick yourself in a year when there still isn't any traffic into your store. Fucking downtown. Good thing the rent is only $800 bucks a month. That's right folks, the retail shops along 6th in SB Manhattan are going for $800 a month. You only get 200 sq. feet, but who cares. He might even let you sign a year commercial lease.
Don't you people know a good deal when you see one? You usually have to sign a 5 year lease. I'm not telling you anything else until I start getting some tips!! Oh is that a $50? Oh, it's just a $5. Keep it.
Well if you've got any class at all then you'll head over to the Redcat theater and check out the movie on Los Angeles residential architecture. You're gonna love it. Here's some more info:
Heinz Emigholz: Schindler’s Houses
West Coast premiere Germany, 2007, 99 min., 35mm, color
"I would happily rank Schindler’s Houses on the short list of essential modern movies about our city’s physical and social geography." Scott Foundas, L.A. Weekly

Look at that. There's even a little review for you.

But really. What do you really, really, really need? Except a job. You need some more gold jewelry. Who doesn't need more gold jewelry and rad crosses and pinkie rings and all kinds of shit. Head down to the jewelry district and get your gold on!

Sunday funday

Get down to the flea market over there in South Park. Watch out for stuff falling from all the new high rises they are building. Sweet Buddha! They're busy down there. Buy some funny buttons or that old basket that you always wanted but never could find. Oh yes! It's good times and fun for all at the Downtown Flea Market.

You can also head down to little Tokyo and hit up the Blossom Festival. That's kinda cool. I love how they break out the drums down there for anything. Go Little Tokyo!!

Is the Art Brewery thing tonight? Is that this weekend or whats going on? I need cable TV. Okay, I don't need it. Whatever! Head over to the Brewery anyways and find out what they are doing. They've got a cool little restaurant and it's fun.

What else can you do? Stay inside and write that treatment for that book of yours.

Flavor Flav among Royalty #73

Mondrian 2006

They've just flown in from Italy. The Countess and Duke of a small hamlet up north of Venice. They are the royals from the Bassano Del Grappa. He looks tired, but she looks ravishing. She looks like she just got out of the beauty parlor. She's beautiful and elegant and why isn't she staying at the Beverly Hills Hotel or the Four Seasons? Why is she staying at the Mondrian?

I check them both in and the bellman waits behind them and walks them up to their room when they are ready.

This Spring is here and things have been quiet all evening. Then Flavor Flav comes in. He buys a hotel room as a 'walk in', which just means no reservation, and I give him room 911. He loves it. We sing a little bit of the song together at the front desk. '911 is a joke'. Amazing. Public Enemy is fucking amazing. I want to sing 'Burn Hollywood Burn' but Chuck D isn't around so I give him his keys and he bobbles off. Happy as can be. All the sudden people start to get excited. A certain fever sweeps the hotel. It must be Friday. It must be time to party. Several people want limousines but it's too late. All the limousines are taken. The party people will have to do with taxis. The lobby fills up with all kinds of beautiful people. They sit along the couch that's shaped like a cross and do dirty things. Somebody gets kicked out for playing with his girlfriends pussy in front of everyone. Some girls auditioning for the Flavors show find out that he is at the hotel and they beg for his room number. I tell them to get lost.

The beautiful people ebb and flow and make their way into Asia de Cuba and some of them try their hand at getting into Skybar. Most are rebuffed. They come back and lounge in the lobby.

Flavor flav comes back roaring through the lobby. He's aquired a lot more people, Bridgette Neilsen being one of them and this train of party people have drinks and chat loudly and talk on their cell phones and try to get Flavors attention. This is when the Countess and Duke make their way to the nightclub through the lobby. Their 2 worlds smoothly pass by one another here in the lobby and they don't even notice each other. He throws a couple high fives to us at the desk and makes his way over to say hi to some people sitting on a couch. More and more people come into the lobby to see who is there. Then the hotel security politely help him to the elevators and lead him and his friends up to his suite.

Groove Armada at City Hall in Downtown

Uh oh. More Downtown debauchery. The fun starts at 6pm! They're opening a little fun park with a beer garden and I'm sure the ravers will be there. Remember 95'. Wait a second! You're still living '95 with all that ecstasy that you've eaten. Wow!

Jason Bently from 6 till 8 and then Groove Armada until 11pm. It's going to be on the steps of City Hall facing the south lawn. Let's get a compass out people! Get those bearings straight and get down there!

Hell you could show up early and hit up some of the bars in the Government Center. Hold Everything! There are no bars in the Government Center. I wonder if there is one in that weird underground mall over there with B. Daltons? Hmmmmmmmmm. Probably not. Well, there will be a beer garden so you're all set after 6pm, but let's say you get downtown around noon, what are you gonna do? Well, head over to the Red Room on 2nd and Hill or Bar 107 on 4th and Main for half a dozen hours and you should be right in time for the show.
How much are tickets?
I don't know. Probably $30 bucks. Or you could just stand on 1st street and dance next to a trash can and the funny homeless guy with a mannequin.

Enjoy this Saturday because it could very well be your last.

Go to work.

Super Big Friday

Get psyched! Get ready for some no good madness at Charlie O's. Friday night and it's Jess and Conrads Birthday bash. Oh let's all go on down and wish them a happy birthday. Don't forget to stop off at your favorite $1 store and pick them up something nice. It's a little bit of Historic core and a little bit of Old Bank District down at Charlie O's. It's kind of exciting.

You can also catch the Lakers doing their thing against the Mavericks at the Staples Center. That should be a good game.

Herb and Lani are still going at it over at the RedCat and god knows whats going on in the Walt Disney Concert Hall. Did you know there are constant rehersals going on in there. They don't let anyone tour the hall. You have to have tickets to a performance to get inside. It's amazing over there. Go see Sweeny Todd if it's still going. Pick up a paper and read something once in a while!

Go forth and conquer!

Don't forget to get to work and start working.

Buy a Spa property in Desert Hot Springs and commute to your loft.

Netflix La Dolce Vita and put it on a loop and get into it man! This is your life. Don't you forget! Write a book that somebody can understand and stop the meds! What the fuck are you doing?

Thursday with my TV

An Intimate Evening with Herb Alpert and Lani Hall
Herb Alpert and Lani Hall perform a rare, relaxed and intimate night of American and Brasilian jazz featuring a trio of masterful musicians-- Bill Cantos (piano), Michael Shapiro (drums) and Hussain Jiffrey (bass). Playing their original arrangements on a selection of American standards and Brasilian music, Alpert’s warm, expressive trumpet lines complement Hall's sensual, emotional voice, making this a unique and unforgettable evening for all.

That should be a kick ass show at the Redcat.

Wow.

We also got the Kings playing the Sharks at the Staples Center.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm. What else? You should buy a shovel and secretly start digging a tunnel to get out of downtown. Go to Long Beach. If you're gonna live in an Urban environment then it should be Long Beach.

New Mega Club opening in South Park Region soon. Can't say where. Don't forget that tonight is the Speakeasy and all you need is the secret password and to stand on Spring st. in front of the Los Angeles Theater and look across the street and see where everyone is going into the building. Good luck with the password.
You have no idea what is going on downtown!?!? People are buying lofts and eating out and not caring what you think in Hollywood with your 4 cranes building the W. Take the subway to the Hollywood/Vine stop and get out in the middle of all the construction. Maybe it's the Sunset/Vine stop. I don't know, I never leave downtown. Enjoy your Thursday and don't forget to watch some L.O.S.T.

Wednesday again!

Always seems like Wednesday around here. I've got a lot of work to do. I don't even know where to start. Head over to the Redcat and check out all the good stuff. The art exhibit is worth buying a cappuccino at the little bar and wandering through. There are a lot of sketchbooks by Geoff Mcfetridge. He's been a busy little bee. He has a lot of sketchbooks. He must go through 10 or 20 a year. So get to work people! That's 2 sketchbooks a month.

What else?

Nothing. THose 2 sketchbooks are going to take up a lot of your time. Oh yea! Post that thing to the stuff!

Have a good Wednesday!
